Corporate Social Responsibility

Our commitment to corporate social responsibility

When Kal Tire opened in Vernon, BC, in 1953, the term ‘corporate social responsibility’ hadn’t yet been coined. And yet doing the right thing—for our team members, our environment and our communities—has always been a part of what we do at Kal Tire.

Our company’s culture is steeped in values. Seven principles known as The Aims reaffirm our values, and guide our team members every day as they work and make decisions. Aim 7 in particular captures our company’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility:

Kal Tire Aim 7
Our aim is to continually improve every aspect of our company, recognizing our responsibility to our customers, each other, our communities and the environment.

Over the years, our commitment to safety, recycling and supporting the community has remained strong and continues to grow. Making a difference in the communities we serve is just part of the way we do business.

In our ‘top-down, bottom-up’ culture of safety, everyone is responsible for making our workplace safe so we can strive to always be free of harm and incidents.

In our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment, we’ve become leaders in tire recycling and retreading, and we’re always trying to reduce energy use and CO2 emissions.

We know that Kal Tire is only as strong as the communities we serve, and that’s why our team members are always looking for ways to give back.
